We are delighted to share about one of our most impressive projects of this summer, “Girls Leading Our World” (GLOW) which is a joint project of Gyumri “Youth Initiative Centre” and the U.S. Peace Corps Volunteers with the financial support of the U.S. Embassy Armenia. GLOW is a girls’ leadership and empowerment project that promotes leadership, friendship, civic engagement, gender equality, rights awareness in young Armenian women through targeted curriculum and participant-led community projects implementation. On September 13th, the final event of the YIC Girl’s Bicycle Project was held in Emili Aregak Center. During the event the participants showed their riding skills. GLOW Armenia in partnership with Gyumri Youth Initiative Centre (YIC) and Komitas Action Suisse-Arménie Swiss Humanitarian Foundation (KASA) implemented the GLOW CAMP from 3-8th of July in Toros, Armenia. The camp aims at empowering young women and promoting leadership through education in a community of sisterhood. A specialized camp curriculum is developed that will enhance the confidence and leadership skills of participants. When. 2012 Description. Since April 2012, YIC volunteer Syuzanna Galstyan has been participating in the Joint Civic Education country program. Within the framework of this program, Syuzanna and Karine Mkhitaryan (another program participant) designed and implemented a project at the F. Nansen boarding school in Gyumri. A group of students from Gyumri had the idea of having a colorful and a bright corner in Gyumri where our youth would have an opportunity to understand what the European values, its structure and institutions mean and do, which would give an opportunity to bring Europe closer and show the European culture and the differences that we have. When. September 21, 2010 Description. Southern Peak of Aragats, 3879 m. The initiative of hiking belonged to YIC member Geteon Simonyan. With 34 young people we went up the hill which was the first challenging height for all of us. The most stunning was the view from the top of the mountain from where one could see the three other peaks and the graters of the mountain. The day was not selected randomly.
