On February 23, the head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Świtalski visited Gyumri "Youth Initiative Centre" NGO. During the visit the Ambassador got acquainted with YIC staff and activities of the organization, as well as the implemented and on-going projects. Later, the Ambassador visited “Youth House” Open Youth Centre, which is the first centre working with the methodology of open youth work in Armenia. On February 1st, Gyumri “Youth Initiative Centre” NGO and “Spitak Helsinki Group” NGO signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the framework of “UPSHIFT ARMENIA” adolescent development and empowerment project. According to the Memorandum of Understanding, the parties will support each other during the activities of the project in two schools in Spitak. "Friday's Cafe" - is one of the local activities of YIC initiated by YIC EVS volunteers. Friday's Cafe takes place twice in a month during which special topics are chosen: music, poetry, painting, theater, games and etc. During it YIC office is transferred into a Cafe where the "Friday's Cafe" takes place. The served cookies cooked by international volunteers of the organization are unsepareted part of the Friday's Cafe.             See more......

 Օn the 22nd of December an event dedicated to the 10th anniversary of Gyumri Youth Initiative Centre NGO was held. The event was attended by the state governmental bodies, the representatives of local and international organizations, media representatives and the members and beneficiaries of the organization. During the event Gyumri Youth Initiative Centre NGO president Artur Najaryan summed up the ten years of the activities of the organization presenting the implemented projects according to the directions of the organization. The opportunity of voluntary service in Europe was given us by Gyumri “Youth Initiative Centre” NGO which is one of the most active organizations in Gyumri actively engaged in youth mobility and in involving them in community. We are doing our EVS in Ozal, Croatia, which differs from all the other countries with its unique nature, castle and hydroelectric power plant, which is much more powerful than the castle itself. The outer look of the castle is quite modern: it has been reconstructed and has lost its soul. The river Cupe flows across the city next to the castle and the hydroelectric power plant is constructed on that river. The project we do is called A.L.I.V....

On November 21, an info day was held at Gyumri “Youth Initiative Center’’ NGO. During the meeting with the help of human library method attendees had an opportunity to learn about foundation history of YIC, about its activities and local, international projects implemented by the organization. ...

On October 23 and 30 new English clubs for beginners and pre-intermidiate learners have been launched and the first meeting took place with the participants. The participants got acquainted with each other and with the club leaders, as well as the procedure and format of the clubs were presented. We wish the club members a productive and an interesting work. ...

On October 24-26, staff members, mentors, local and international volunteers of Gyumri “Youth Initiative Centre” NGO and “Youth House” Open Youth Centre participated in three-days-long training of trainers about “UPSHIFT Model: Engagement Adolescents and Youth”, which UNICEF aims to realize in Armenia. *“UPSHIFT’ model is a special tool for discovering and developing skills of 12 to 18 years old youngsters.      ...

On September 21, 2018 a non-formal meeting took place at YIC office with volunteers involved in the organizing activities of the International Youth Day events. Volunteers shared their impressions and made new proposals. At the end Gyumri YIC NGO handed certificates to volunteers for active participation and support in organizing activities of IYD events.              See more......

  On September 22 Gyumri “Youth Initiative Centre” NGO members meeting was held in the Youth House. During the meeting members were presented the semi-annual reports of Managerial and Supervising Bodies (President, International Board, Controller), the implemented projects of the organization and the upcoming actions. Besides the new members were introduced to the others and were handed membership cards. Then the meeting continued in non-formal atmosphere, allowing the members to communicate with each other and to enjoy a pleasant time.           ...
