“SPITAK YOUTH HOUSE” OPEN YOUTH CENTRE
“Spitak Youth House” open youth centre is the second youth center in Armenia working with the methodology and principles of open youth work, which was founded by Gyumri “Youth Initiative Center” NGO in May 2020 in cooperation with the UNICEF Armenia and Spitak Municipality. The organization believes that professional work with young people and free services in one of the remote districts of Spitak has the full potential to fill the gap that currently exists in a safe and youth-centered environment and to provide opportunities for personal development and informal learning.
The activity of “Spitak Youth House” is aimed at improving the quality of life of young people, increasing their civic activity and involving them in community life. The center is a safe space for teenagers and young adults aged 13-18 to learn, develop new skills, express themselves, organize their free time and interact with peers, as well as an environment conducive to their socialization and the implementation of positive changes in their communities.
