TITLE: Read, Analyze, Criticize, Think – REACT

Due to widespread consumption of digital media with which young people live, communicate, learn, work, socialize with each other, it is wrongly assumed they use digital media in a critical way. COVID-19 pandemic is the latest example of how important media literacy (involving critical thinking) is.

AIM OF THE PROJECT: Enable youth workers/youth leaders to teach young people to be more conscious media consumers by critically analysing the information they receive. We want to create an “equal partnership” between the youth worker and young people where the youth worker is the one who assists, helps and guides the young person.

PARTICIPATING COUNTRIES: Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, Ukraine, Latvia, the Republic of North Macedonia, Greece, Portugal and Croatia.

PARTICIPANTS:

• 20-35 years old youth workers and young leaders who are eager to gain knowledge and skills in this field and are committed to conduct follow-up activities for young people in their communities after the training.
• Have good command of English.
• We are looking for 3 participants from Armenia.

PROJECT CONDITIONS:

• Food and lodging is fully covered.
• The travel limit for Armenian participants to the venue of the project is 360 EUR. The reimbursement of the travel costs will take place via bank transfer after the end of the project.
• Visa and visa related costs are covered up to 150 EUR.
• Due to Covid-19 situation, participants should be fully vaccinated not older than 270 days ago with one of the following vaccines: Pfizer, Moderna, AstaZeneca, Gamaleya, Sinopharm, Novavax, Sinovac – CoronaVac. Costs of the PCR tests if required before entry to Croatia, will be reimbursed together with travel and visa costs.
• There is participation fee of 50 EUR. YIC members and participants nominated from institutions with agreement to YIC are exempted from the participation fee.
