TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR YOUTH PARTICIPATION IN DECISION-MAKING AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLICIES
Are you part of a youth organisation and interested in joining a training programme and best practice exchange?
Youth Initiative Centre NGO (YIC) will select three (3) youth organisations from Armenia to participate in a comprehensive training programme that includes a 5-day study visit to Bucharest, alongside peers from Romania, Georgia and Moldova, an online mentorship programme, together with support for youth organisations. This programme offers the opportunity to learn, collaborate, and contribute to enhancing youth participation in decision-making, particularly in environmental and climate policies.
WHAT WE OFFER:
- A Study Visit to Bucharest (June/July 2025), including training sessions and meetings with local and central authorities to support youth involvement in decision-making and environmental policies
- A virtual training programme bringing together youth organisations from Armenia, Romania, Moldova and Georgia
- An online mentorship programme with interactive learning sessions on civic participation, environmental policies, digital youth initiatives, and gender equality
- Access to interactive resources dedicated to youth engagement in climate action (educational toolkits, board games, etc.)
- Support for developing local civic initiatives and co-organising training sessions for small and medium-sized organisations in Armenia.
WHO CAN APPLY?
- Environmental and youth organisations, youth councils, non formal groups/initiatives from Armenia
- Organisations that promote youth engagement in decision-making and collaboration with public authorities
- Organisations working with young people from vulnerable communities or rural and small urban areas
SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Strong commitment to supporting youth engagement in the community, encouraging participation in learning sessions and virtual exchanges
- Priority for organisations from rural and small urban areas, as well as those working with marginalized youth, ensuring diverse representation in terms of gender, geography, and organisation type
- Willingness to actively participate in project activities, including:
- participation in a 5-day Study Visit to Bucharest,
- participation in a virtual training programme following the Study Visit consisting of 5 sessions (1,5 – 3 hours each) starting from September 2025 until March 2026,
- co-organising 3 follow-up workshops targeting smaller youth organisations from rural and small urban areas in the decision-making and environmental policies process (virtual and in situ)
- engaging in a virtual session with public authorities and youth organisations,
- drafting and supporting development of a policy analysis document that will include key youth concerns on climate and environment and possible policy solutions.
- Participants should be 18-35 years old active youth workers, youth leaders, youth activists, environmentalists, volunteers etc. Good level of English is a requirement.
PROGRAMME TIMELINE: The programme activities will take place between June 2025 and March 2026, starting with the Study Visit in June/July 2025, followed by the mentorship and support programme, which will run from September 2025 to March 2026.

IMPORTANT: Visa, travel, board and lodging will be covered by the project during the Study Visit.
