“Youth Initiative Centre” (YIC) NGO within the framework of the “Youth in Action: Youth Empowerment and Leadership Development in Armenia” project is launching a competition for on consultant-experts in order to involve them in the following components of the activity:

 

Component 1: Capacity Building of Youth Workers (1.1.2)

4-day training in mentoring for youth workers on youth participation and career exploration, non-formal learning, youth social, psychological and physical demands, coaching, project management and will target 24 professionals and volunteers. The mentor-youth workers will be engaged in relevant action activities as coaches/mentors (idea labs, hackathons, “Model Armenia” program etc.).

 

Component 2: Capacity building for youth CSOs (1.5; 1.5.1)

Around 40 CSOs will benefit from capacity-building and will be selected through an open call, based on a clearly defined criteria by the project team and including geographical diversity. At least 20 institutional and organizational capacity-building (trainings, ToT or coaching) will be conducted and based on individual needs and capabilities of each selected CSOs. Additionally, trainings will be delivered on quality youth work – both locally and internationally, two courses will  be offered to up to 3 participants per target organization: (1) long-term youth work training (on youth work history, types, formats, youth worker competences), and (2) a 2-day European youth projects’ introductory course, to introduce youth organizations to accessible funding schemes (Erasmus+ Youth, European Solidarity Corps, European Youth Foundation) and their application process. These trainings intend to give knowledge on various youth work models to enrich their organizations’ work with quality contents.

 

Component 3: Online Leadership School (2.3.2)

Online Leadership School will bring together at least 15 participants, trying to reach young people in most remote areas and aiming to provide base knowledge on leadership competences. The online leadership school also aims to increase the role of the youth in the community.

 

Component 4: Leadership Lab (2.3.3)

Leadership Lab will become a space for aspiring young leaders to network and deepen their knowledge as community leaders. The model of the activity will be based on other successful ones piloted in Armenia (ex. “I am the community” model by UNDP) and will be co-designed with the young multipliers, some of whom will be engaged in supporting the implementation of the Leadership Labs in person.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure thematic and methodological complementarity and quality among the activities of the various project components by advising the project team accordingly.
  • Offer up-to-date guidance to project staff and sub-grantees regarding youth work clusters and their unique characteristics, particularly during the announcement and implementation phases of the sub-grant designated for the development of innovative civic education tools.
  • Assist trainers and other stakeholders in crafting high-quality educational proposals, designing educational modules, and implementing them using informal learning methodologies tailored to the specific purpose and target audience of each component.

 

Skills:

  • A minimum of five years of verifiable work experience in the field of youth policy.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in youth work implementation, organization, or coordination.
  • Familiarity with youth work formats, clusters, and age characteristics of the target audience.
  • Consulting and supervision experience in the youth or CSO field.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating educational modules, as well as local and international programs.
  • Mastery of non-formal learning methodology and tools.
  • Ability to work with a team.
  • Excellent communication skills including oral, written and interpersonal communication.
  • Excellent knowledge of Armenian and English.
  • Computer knowledge (MS Word Excel, PowerPoint, web applications).
  • Ability to quickly navigate different situations.

 

Payment:

Payment for the service will be in AMD based on the timesheet submitted by the performer, and in the case of legal entities, individual entrepreneurs, based on the invoice submitted in addition to the mentioned document. The current price is set at 200 EUR (the cost of the one-day service) which will be accommodated in EUR equivalent to the fluctuated rate exchange and will be reimbursed adequately. This includes taxes and fees defined by RA legislation.

The Euro – AMD exchange rate will be calculated in accordance with the current exchange rate at the customer’s bank at the time of signing the service contract.

 

Terms of the application:

The motivation letter should provide detailed information regarding the candidate’s qualifications for the call, along with online references.

The application submission deadline is April 16, 2024, at 23:59. 

 

Application Evaluation:

The assessment of applications will be conducted until April 22, 2024. Only applicants that meet the requirements will be taken into consideration. Shortlisted candidates will undergo an interview via video call.
