“PAPA SCHOOL” THEMATIC MEETING-DISCUSSION COURSE

The Papa school thematic discussion-meetings are implemented by Gyumri “Youth Initiative Center” NGO in partnership with the UNFPA Armenia Country Office, funded by the European Union and implemented jointly by UNFPA and UN Women in the frame of the “EU 4 Gender Equality” Program.

 

Objective of the Papa school meetings:

Create a safe space for Men to become more engaged fathers and supportive partners through the acquisition of new knowledge and skills, thus aimed at changing stereotypes about the roles of women and men.

 

Topics of the Papa school meetings:

  1. Father’s impact
  2. Family Planning
  3. Couples communication
  4. Pregnancy
  5. Birth
  6. Caregiving and division of caregiving
  7. The needs and rights of children.

 

Format of the Papa school meetings:

During the sessions the topics will be presented through group discussions and interactive

games.

 

Duration of the Papa school meetings:

The thematic discussion-meeting is with 1.5-2 hours length each.

The ‘’Papa School” thematic meeting-discussion course has been implemented from June, 2021 to December, 2022.

 

Who can participate:

18-40 year old boys and girls, women and men (both married and single) from Shirak, Lori and Tavush Marzes.

 

Location of the Papa school meetings:

Gyumri Family Corner resource center (Alek Manukyan 26, Gyumri).

Vanadzor Family Corner resource center (Batumi 10, Vanadzor)

Ijevan Family Corner resource center (Sahmanadrutyan 1, Ijevan).

 

The “EU 4 Gender Equality” program is implemented at regional and national levels in six EAP countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. In Armenia the Program is implemented in Shirak, Lori and Tavush Marzes.
