YIC NGO in the framework of “European Solidarity Corps” (former: ”Youth In Action”) and ”Erasmus+ Youth” implements the ”European Voluntary Activities” program. EVA gives European youth a chance to volunteer in Armenia.
ESC aims to instill in young people humanism, tolerance and to encourage active citizenship for community development.


When: May 2018 – February 2019 Aim: To promote volunteerism and link art and intercultural learning for the empowerment and self-development of young people. Volunteer’s Tasks: To plan and run the “Handicraft” Club twice a month for the young people aged 13-30 from Gyumri and Shirak region, to support in organizational activities of “Intercultural Club” and “Friday’s Cafe”, to plan, prepare and run promotional activities about volunteering called “Volunteering Month with YIC”, to organize a photo exhibition, an open air movie screenings and presentation of their culture, food, dances and so on, to design YIC’s monthly newsletter.    ...

When: October 2017 – September 2018 Aim: To raise awareness regarding youth mobility and intercultural learning among young people by marking its positive effect on the development of youngsters. Volunteer’s Tasks: To support in organizational activities of "Intercultural Club" and "Friday’s Cafe", to plan, prepare and run promotional activities about volunteering called “Volunteering Month with YIC”, to organize a photo exhibition, an open air movie screenings and presentation of his culture, food, dances and so on, to teach English at a local school. . . .       ...


On September 10, 2017 the farewell event for Elina Benz (Germany) took place, who used to do volunteering in Gyumri within the framework of European Voluntary Service (EVS) programme. Elina has been volunteering for a year at Gyumri ''Youth Initiative Centre'' NGO by organizing different projects like the “Friday Café”, German and  Handicraft clubs, also German teaching at Gyumri No. 25 School after E. Charents and Gyumri No. 3 High School. During the event, EVS Coordinator Mariam Gharagyozyan awarded the volunteer with a Certificate of Appreciation and YouthPass for his work. In turn, Elina shared her impressions of Armenia and experience gained over the past year.             ...
