On December 10th, the 8th meeting of the General Assembly of the Gyumri “Youth Initiative Centre” was convened, during which the annual reports of Managerial and Supervising Bodies (President, International Board, Controller), the success of the organization and the upcoming actions were presented. On December 5th Gyumri “Youth Initiative Centre” NGO celebrated International Volunteer Day with local and international volunteers this year too. The event was launched with the annual ceremony of awarding the titles "Volunteer of the Year", "EVS Armenian volunteer of the Year", "International EVS volunteer of the Year", “Mentor of the Year” and “Club leader of the Year” to those local and international volunteers who have been actively volunteering during the whole year. On November 16, 2017 the range of events took place in Gyumri dedicated to International Students day. The launch of the events was at Youth Palace where 22 students, studying in higher, secondary professional and educational institutions of Shirak region were handed certificates from Gyumri Municipality and Shirak Regional Government for their high progress in education and social activity. On November 24, the "Friday Café" was held in the Gyumri "Youth Initiatives Center" NGO this time about intercultural topic. The EVS volunteers introduced to the guests the cultures of the countries they are coming from. In the warm atmosphere of “Friday’s café” interesting facts about Estonia, Slovakia, Germany and the Netherlands were presented and due to the games, ethnic music and national sweets guests had an opportunity to discover the cultures of those countries. . .            See more......

August 27, a serial "Friday's cafe" took place in Gyumri YIC NGO, this time it was about retro music. The participants discussed the features of the retro period, enjoyed retro music, tasted cookies made by volunteers  and played musical games, which made the atmosphere warmer and more interesting.        See more...

25 September 2017, Yerevan the EU small grant scheme contracts signing ceremony took place and during which The European Union funded Strong Civil Society Organisations for Stronger Armenia project has awarded small grants for 17 new projects for Armenian CSOs․ We are glad to inform that one of the projects awarded with small grant was “Open youth work: Empowering young people in Gyumri” presented by Gyumri Youth Initiative Centre and Caucasus Research Resource Center-Armenia Foundation. Open Youth Centre will be founded in Gyumri in the framework of the project. On September 18, a Youth Forum took place in Yerevan and the Gyumri Youth Initiative Centre was present in the event. The aim of the forum was to contribute to the development of 2018-2022 Armenian National Youth Policy ensuring stakeholder participation in the process. The main part of the forum was held in 5 separate thematic groups. One of them, ''Youth work and lifelong learning'' group was fasilized by YIC Board Chairperson Anna Yeghoyan and YIC NGO Presedent Artur Najaryan. On July 4, 2017 Gyumri Youth Initiative Centre NGO and Hrant Dink Foundation announced the launch of the programme ''Beyond Borders 2017-2019'': Turkey-Armenia Dialogue Programmes, Travel Grant and Fellowship Scheme, funded by UK Government’s Conflict, Stability and Security Fund. A press conference took place during which The Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Judith Farnworth delivered opening remarks. The organizers and guests of the event spoke about Armenia-Turkey cooperation, highlighting the mutual ties between two countries in different fields: science, culture, art, youth and volunteerism, journalism, education, business, etc...
