2016թ From March 30 to April 2, the international volunteer of Gyumri "Youth Initiatives Center" NGO Kirstine Knudzen conducted an event dedicated to Hans Christian Andersen's birth and his fairy tales in Shirak Regional Library which brought together a group of schoolchildren. During the event, children had the opportunity to learn more about the writer's life and work. They also heard one of the fairy tales of Andersen, watched a cartoon then illustrated the fairy tale on the papers by drawing.       See more...

On March 31 in Gyumri at V. Achemyan theatre of drama "Gyumri Youth Capital 2016 of Armenia" opening ceremony was held . During the ceremony, minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Ministry gave certificates of appreciation to various non-governmental organizations operating in Gyumri. Certificate of Appreciation was awarded also to the "Youth Initiative Center of Gyumri" NGO for continuous and effective cooperation with the Ministry.          See more...

On February 7, 2016  the events of "Shirak Winter" and "Bun Barekendan" took place in Mother Armenia memorial, where Gyumri Youth Initiative Centre had a participation. The staff, members, local and international volunteers participated in the march from Gyumri Central Park to Mother Armenia. During the march, the participants were wearing the masks of Gyumri's remarkable people, made by our international vulunteers. People also were helped with "bagharjes" cooked by YIC staff. When. October 14, 2012 Description.  On October 14, 2012 “Retro Party” was organized by active members of YIC NGO. The event was exceptional in its nature. It took the participants back to the 80s and made them feel the retro breath. Participants’ retro clothing, hairstyles and the retro music in the hall contributed to it. Beside the members and friends of the organization, the participants of the international training “URA” hosted by YIC NGO were also invited to party. The hall event passed in very high spirits. When. February 15, 2012 Description.  On February 15, 2012 “You are Able” flash-mob was organized in Gyumri Theatre Square by the ten participants of “You are Able” media project. The aim was to show that the idea of volunteerism really works in Gyumri: despite the fact, that it seems at first glance the youth of Gyumri are passive, they none the less do come up with their initiatives. “You are Able” was written with colourful letters on the large white poster and the passers-by, who found themselves “able” and were volunteers, dyed their hands with colourful paints and left traces on the poster meanwhile writing the expression “I am a volunteer...

When. February 14, 2012 Description. On February 14 in the restaurant “Araks” YIC celebrated in a unique way St. Sargis Day – the protector saint of youth and love. Everyone came to the event dressed in black and red, as there was a certain precondition for entering the event. During the event the participants read different love poems and stories which were gathered in the box make on the event’s eve. A lot of surprises were prepared for the event both by the staff and the members.
