YIC NGO in the framework of ”Youth In Action” and ”Erasmus +” implements the ”European Voluntary Service” program. EVS gives European youth a chance to volunteer in Armenia.
EVS aims to instill in young people humanism, tolerence and to encourage active citizenship for community development.

On September 10, 2017 the farewell event for Elina Benz (Germany) took place, who used to do volunteering in Gyumri within the framework of European Voluntary Service (EVS) programme. Elina has been volunteering for a year at Gyumri ''Youth Initiative Centre'' NGO by organizing different projects like the “Friday Café”, German and  Handicraft clubs, also German teaching at Gyumri No. 25 School after E. Charents and Gyumri No. 3 High School. During the event, EVS Coordinator Mariam Gharagyozyan awarded the volunteer with a Certificate of Appreciation and YouthPass for his work. 25 September 2017, Yerevan the EU small grant scheme contracts signing ceremony took place and during which The European Union funded Strong Civil Society Organisations for Stronger Armenia project has awarded small grants for 17 new projects for Armenian CSOs․ We are glad to inform that one of the projects awarded with small grant was “Open youth work: Empowering young people in Gyumri” presented by Gyumri Youth Initiative Centre and Caucasus Research Resource Center-Armenia Foundation. Open Youth Centre will be founded in Gyumri in the framework of the project. On September 18, a Youth Forum took place in Yerevan and the Gyumri Youth Initiative Centre was present in the event. The aim of the forum was to contribute to the development of 2018-2022 Armenian National Youth Policy ensuring stakeholder participation in the process. The main part of the forum was held in 5 separate thematic groups. One of them, ''Youth work and lifelong learning'' group was fasilized by YIC Board Chairperson Anna Yeghoyan and YIC NGO Presedent Artur Najaryan.
