Description. Western Peak of Aragats, 4080 m. This peak was harder to conquer, as it was higher and the way up was more difficult. This time the hiking group consisted of 56 people, but 30 of them were able to get to the top. We walked about 30 km and reached up to 4080 m altitude. The participants were impressed by the view opening for them.

Description. The project was implemented by a YIC member Valya Martirosyan with the support of “Youth Initiative Centre” NGO, IREX Armenia and Armenian Caritas for the disabled children of the “Aregak” day care center. The main objective of doing this project was to create a more natural environment, which would assist in the children’s development, since their main source of learning is senses. Description. Southern Peak of Aragats, 3879 m. The initiative of hiking belonged to YIC member Geteon Simonyan. With 34 young people we went up the hill which was the first challenging height for all of us. The most stunning was the view from the top of the mountain from where one could see the three other peaks and the graters of the mountain. The day was not selected randomly. It was on the Independence Day of Armenia. On the top we attracted the other hiking groups and danced the traditional kochari.

Description. “What can YOU do to make Gyumri young people’s life more interesting?”
On July 26, 2010 YIC NGO organized the first flash-mob in Gyumri called “What can YOU do to make Gyumri young people’s life more interesting?” The flash-mob was organized in Gyumri theatre square.
The aim of the flash-mob was to gather active young people in Gyumri and to outline together the list of the activities the implementation of which can make young people’s life more interesting. Description. On October 28, 2010 Peace Corps Volunteer Amanda Pascal organized Halloween party in YIC office.
One of the mediatory requirements of attending the event was to represent a character that would fit the theme of the event. There were many games, surprises, dances and snacks arranged.
The event was open only for the members of YIC NGO.
When. December 12, 2009
Description. Acting as a non-formal group since December 2008, “Youth Initiative Centre” was registered as a non-governmental organization on September 22, 2009.
Along with five founder members of the organization, new employees were recruited and the organization acquired an office. To celebrate all these and to inform the public about the organization, the opening event was organized at the YIC office on December 12.
